This year’s BIO International Convention in San Diego felt different. While previous editions focused primarily on scientific breakthroughs, BIO 2026 was very much a conference at the intersection of geopolitics, technology, and human stories. The big questions were no longer just “what’s next in science?” but rather “who will make the medicines tomorrow?”, “how can AI accelerate the process?”, and “how do we maintain patient trust?”.

Geopolitical shifts and the reshaping of global supply chains were front and centre this year.

Much attention was given to engagement with China and the broader Asia-Pacific region, with record-breaking delegations from South Korea and Hong Kong, making their presence felt.

Another dominant theme was speed and efficiency in drug development, a message echoed across the exhibition floor. How to bring therapies to patients faster, reduce complexity without losing sight of opportunity — many booths were dedicated to accelerating clinical trials. At Palleos CRO, of course, we are always ready to share our experience and help sponsors navigate these challenges.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and showed such great interest in what we do. We truly enjoyed reconnecting with old colleagues and partners, and we were delighted to make new connections across the industry.

As always, we love to keep things interactive! Our bright and welcoming booth featured giveaways and a raffle that drew a lot of attention, especially the prize of tickets to the most exclusive networking event of the conference: The Annual Premier Charity Gala. It was a spectacular show, and our team was thrilled to attend.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) in biotech was another hot topic throughout the week, with dedicated sessions and real‑world applications being showcased across the board.

In our view, BIO 2026 confirmed that the biotech industry is moving from the era of discovery to an era of strategic positioning, in a new, multipolar world.

If you are looking for a trusted partner for clinical research in Europe, whether you need support with clinical trials, regulatory strategy, or feasibility assessment, our team is here to help. Reach out to us at info@palleos.com.
